Another 1 million word milestone

Another 1 million word milestone

Uploaded a chapter of Overtures last night, the first one in months. Went to check my user stats this morning, and lo, I’ve hit the 1 million word mark at ff.net. Whew! Never knew I was so wordy… well, yeah, I did. Worked a little on my novel last week, and am working on drabbles for the Classic Thunderbirds Showcase challenge. Have three out of ten done so far and I’m trying to figure out how to fit the prompt…

An update on a favorite site

An update on a favorite site

My hubby has finally gotten back to updating his comic strip, starting on January 1st. I’ve updated the URL in my list of favorite sites as the place where he archives his strip has changed names. He’s going to try and be more timely about updating as his characters won’t leave him alone–especially since I made him those two t-shirts…. Go and give it a look!

1 Million words

1 Million words

As of January 1, 2007, I have over 1,000,000 words published on the web. This does not include the 50,000 words of my NaNoWriMo novel. This does not include the God-only-knows how many words I’ve written in RPs. This does not include words written in my blogs. This does not include reviews I have written. This does not include the story "Chow Sing Bing and the Forest Dragon", which was written by Boy #1, and posted under my name at…

2007 Resolutions

2007 Resolutions

My resolutions for 2007. Finish my novel. Finish my WIP fanfics. Get back on my diet. (already broke that one, actually. Had donuts for breakfast. 🙁  ) Keep my house cleaner. (Hail, Flylady!) Get rid of clutter. Get out from under the debts. I don’t know of any others. Some of these I’ve had for years – like the housecleaning and the clutter, but I know I can do it, especially if I get back with Flylady. The last one is…

Surprises under the tree.

Surprises under the tree.

Yes, there were a few surprises under the tree for me! First, there were the two metal sign magnets that Hubby gave me. One says, "I like nonsense. It wakes up the brain cells." which is attributed to Dr. Seuss. The other has a 1950s mom on the phone while 2 kids get into the cake batter or icing in the background. She’s saying, "I childproofed my house, but they got in anyway." I put the Dr. Seuss quote on…

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas!!

And a lovely Christmas it looks to be, too.  We had our traditional Christmas Eve get-together with my Bro and his family. Since my poor, overworked SIL had to work until noon, we decided to have it – and Boy #2’s 11th birthday – at our house. Between Hubby and myself we made roasted pork loin with rubbed rosemary, huge amounts of mashed potatoes, Romany blend veggies, gravy, and a chocolate Wacky cake for the birthday boy.  My Bro and…

Fudge, fudge, fudge and more fudge!

Fudge, fudge, fudge and more fudge!

Yummy, yummy, yummy! Been making fudge pretty much all week. Delicious stuff, not healthy for me, but we’re nearly swimming in it. Plain, walnut, pecan and mint. Made it for the teachers and neighbors. Made it for Hubby’s all week work party (he didn’t bring any of the fudge back — for which I was happy, happy!!). He brought home some Harry and David chocolate cherries, gifts from a customer. Never had them before… wow! Delicious! Too easy to eat too…

OUCH!!

OUCH!!

I’m beginning to think it’s dangerous to walk to the school to pick up Boy #2. Yesterday, on the way home, I stepped wrong somehow, and injured my ankle. I’m not quite sure what exactly I did to it, but it complained with a dull ache for the rest of the day. It’s better today, but what’s a dull ache in me might be excruciating pain in someone else. I may have done more damage than I think I did,…

I WON!!!

I WON!!!

50229! I know I haven’t been updating my NaNoWriMo progress here like I have at livejournal, but I’m happy to report that today, I became a winner! Yes, friends, I have hit the 50K word mark! I am very, very happy, even though I know the story is far, far, far from over. I’m trying to write up the end scene, or what may be the end scene, so I have something to work toward in the months ahead. And,…

I’m going to add this here.

I’m going to add this here.

I can’t create a poll here, but the poll I created on live journal will only reach people on live journal. Instead, I’ll ask for comments from my friends who actually read this thing. There have been some people interested in seeing my NaNoWriMo novel. I’m debating whether or not to post it somewhere, and if so, where. So here are my options. I’d appreciate it if you’d vote by number and add it in a comment. Post it to…
