Woot!! More art from my daughter!!
Check out my Thunderbirds album! There’s a new picture there by my daughter, called "Virgil’s Happy Place". I think it’s terrific (of course, I’m more than slightly biased)! She’s very happy with it herself.

Tonight was the awards ceremony for Boy #2. Only the “big” awards were given out; smaller ones, like perfect attendance, will be given out next week (on the last day of school). Let’s see what he came home with: Trophy and certificate for Principal’s Honor Roll (All As, all year) “Oscar” trophy and framed picture for his role in Annie, Jr. (He played Sandy and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I’ll post the Sandy picture; it’ll be great blackmail once he’s older!!)…
Whether or not you like Star Trek, this is too funny. Found the link to it on livejournal’s Fanthropology community. "We have Tribbles and also Troubles"
And that’s exactly how I feel this afternoon: like taking a nap. The window in the livingroom is open to let the cool, damp air in… and give a watching post for one of the cats. The kids are either playing on the PS2 or watching a sibling play. Boy #1 made monkey bread at my request; strangely enough, even with all the sugar, I was shaky and didn’t have an appetite. That usually happens with low blood sugar, not high….
Yes, the Girl is now sweet sixteen! Kinda hard to believe it, but it’s true! We haven’t done anything really special as of yet, but we did take her to a Chinese buffet after her youngest brother’s team was eliminated in "Battle of the Books" (first year that his school has done it and they actually did quite well!). She wants a good digital camera; they’re still pretty pricey so we’re thinking about it. Hubby has suggested a particular art…
My good friend ArtisticRainey has created a new Thunderbirds graphic novel (or comic book if you want a less pretentious name for it). You can find it at her website, Iron Lady. Go take a look; it’s worth the read!!
I went shopping today, and bought lots and lots of groceries (we were out of a lot of stuff!). Boy #2, being home first, hauled in all the groceries that I hadn’t dragged in myself (i.e. everything but the frozen and fridge stuff I bought). Because he had dragged in the bags, his brother and sister were required to put everything else away. The Girl was not pleased by this prospect. So, Boy #1 asks about a bottle of "weird sweet and sour…
Not the trees; they’re still green and getting greener. But the flowers… three nights of chilly temperatures have killed a lot of the azaleas (including ours) and some of the dogwoods. It makes me sad to see. I hear the peach crop is all but ruined, too. It would have been in flower, like these other trees and bushes. I’m feeling a bit of nausea tonight. The Girl was complaining of the same yesterday, and Hubby also mentioned it this…
Yesterday, as I was driving back toward our neighborhood after picking up the Hubby from work (and planning to stop for Chinese food on the way), I looked up toward Paris Mountain, and it hit me. Everything was green. The whole mountain seemed to be covered with green of varying shades: light, dark, medium… it was a beautiful and sudden sight. Spring was here, in force. I also noticed, to my delight, that as we drove along, there were patches…
Warning: Icky stuff ahead. Got up to take Boy #2 to school today. Since the weather has been so nice lately (as in, we’ve skipped spring and moved directly into summer) I thought I’d walk in the mornings, especially on the days when I have to pick him up after play practice. So I put on my clothes from yesterday (standard practice when I’m going to shower later), including my socks. But I noticed a stain on one of the pair…
