I have a second blog.

I have a second blog.

I’ve created a second blog, under my Tiquatoo address, that I’m dedicating to helping people write better. I’ve linked it to this one in my favorite links list; it’s at the bottom. The site is pared down to the essentials, really, with a list of writer’s resources, common fan fiction terms, and the blog, where I hope to discuss writing and bring out some of the basics at first. This site is linked as well so that if people want to…

Thin skins, foul mouths, and big heads

Thin skins, foul mouths, and big heads

Consider this a rant.   For every polite, talented, eager to learn teenaged writer, there are at least three who have thin skins, foul mouths, and big heads. TracyLOVER is a fine example of this latter category. She finally got back to Hobbeth (I wondered what took her so long) after that worthy took her to task for her flaming me on The White Winds. From the account I got, the letter was foul mouthed, and told Hobbeth to shove off…

I like Walmart!

I like Walmart!

Hubby gave me permission to buy myself some new clothes as a lot of my old ones are just hanging on me. The shorts I wore yesterday kept wanting to slip down and off. So I went to Walmart today with the hopes of buying some new button-and-fly jeans.   Well, I got two pairs of stretch denim jeans, one by Just My Size and one by Faded Glory, plus a pair of stretch twill capris! I was so excited!…

Boy, make a legitimate comment and you open a can of worms.

Boy, make a legitimate comment and you open a can of worms.

Made the very big mistake of reading something by “TracyLOVER” on ff.net today, and gave my honest opinion, which is that it was PWP, Porn Without Plot (or sometimes known as “Plot? What Plot?”). This got me a snarky so-called “review” on The White Winds, which I made the huge mistake of replying to in email.  She emailed me back. Talk about venom! Couldn’t write a sentence without a four-letter word, said she’d tear out my eyeballs and feed them…

The dam broke!

The dam broke!

Chapter 5 of Overtures is up, but also Chapter 12 of The White Winds, which is actually better because things were flowing again. I had struggled all week with those two chapters and today, chapter 12 just poured out. It felt good to get underway again.   Been looking into zines as a means of publishing my work. I joined a Yahoo group dedicated to it and asked if there were any Thunderbirds zines out there. Maybe I’ll get an…

Six Days!

Six Days!

It has taken six days for Chapter 5 of Overtures to be completed and posted. I can’t believe that it’s taken that long! But my brain isn’t as focused on it as it was on Masquerade. I have gotten some of chapter 12 of The White Winds written, but not a lot. I did come up with an interesting solution to the problem; I hope it passes muster.   Payday was yesterday and I did go shopping for groceries. I…

Finally finished a chapter!

Finally finished a chapter!

It’s taken so long it seems, but I’ve finally finished chapter 4 of Overtures. My muse has been really stingy on my fanfiction but very giving on my RP stuff. Maybe it’s because the RP stuff is short and the chapters are long, and part of a longer arc, I’m not sure. Now I need to work on The White Winds, which has over 6000 hits.   The Girl is at her cousin’s for the long weekend and I’m happy…

Interesting news from the pizza place.

Interesting news from the pizza place.

Tonight was one of the fund-raising events that the elementary school has at our local Ci-Ci’s pizza. The food is pretty good, the price is right, and Boy #2’s teacher invited him to come (on her), so we all ate there. I was very, very bad: even though there was salad there, I ate nothing but pizza and even had dessert! I’m not looking forward to my bedtime blood glucose level!   But, the most interesting thing was what Boy…

Getting a trickle

Getting a trickle

And I don’t mean rain from now Tropical Storm Katrina, who is supposed to give us some rain this evening. I mean creative trickle, one that sort of dried up in the middle of the rescue scene I wrote for The White Winds. The chapter ended up being very, very short, and I had to rewrite the beginning of it when betareader Liz pointed out what could have been a pretty massive gaffe on my part. Whew! I’m glad she’s…

Waiting for the dam to break…

Waiting for the dam to break…

I am of the decided opinion that my muse is on vacation. It’s been hard, really hard, to write much of anything over the past few days. A paragraph or two on The White Winds, and more on Overtures, but I had a deuce of a time trying to figure out what was wrong with the rescue venue in the first place! Now I’ve got it, and it’s unique, and I think, will be funny (maybe).  We’ll see. But even writing…
