Six Days!

Six Days!

It has taken six days for Chapter 5 of Overtures to be completed and posted. I can’t believe that it’s taken that long! But my brain isn’t as focused on it as it was on Masquerade. I have gotten some of chapter 12 of The White Winds written, but not a lot. I did come up with an interesting solution to the problem; I hope it passes muster.   Payday was yesterday and I did go shopping for groceries. I…

Finally finished a chapter!

Finally finished a chapter!

It’s taken so long it seems, but I’ve finally finished chapter 4 of Overtures. My muse has been really stingy on my fanfiction but very giving on my RP stuff. Maybe it’s because the RP stuff is short and the chapters are long, and part of a longer arc, I’m not sure. Now I need to work on The White Winds, which has over 6000 hits.   The Girl is at her cousin’s for the long weekend and I’m happy…

Interesting news from the pizza place.

Interesting news from the pizza place.

Tonight was one of the fund-raising events that the elementary school has at our local Ci-Ci’s pizza. The food is pretty good, the price is right, and Boy #2’s teacher invited him to come (on her), so we all ate there. I was very, very bad: even though there was salad there, I ate nothing but pizza and even had dessert! I’m not looking forward to my bedtime blood glucose level!   But, the most interesting thing was what Boy…

Getting a trickle

Getting a trickle

And I don’t mean rain from now Tropical Storm Katrina, who is supposed to give us some rain this evening. I mean creative trickle, one that sort of dried up in the middle of the rescue scene I wrote for The White Winds. The chapter ended up being very, very short, and I had to rewrite the beginning of it when betareader Liz pointed out what could have been a pretty massive gaffe on my part. Whew! I’m glad she’s…

Waiting for the dam to break…

Waiting for the dam to break…

I am of the decided opinion that my muse is on vacation. It’s been hard, really hard, to write much of anything over the past few days. A paragraph or two on The White Winds, and more on Overtures, but I had a deuce of a time trying to figure out what was wrong with the rescue venue in the first place! Now I’ve got it, and it’s unique, and I think, will be funny (maybe).  We’ll see. But even writing…

Familiar, yet unfamiliar

Familiar, yet unfamiliar

School started today. The kids were up bright and early, and were ready, dressed, with breakfast eaten, lunches made, bright eyed and bushy tailed… by 7 a.m. I couldn’t take Boy #2 to school until 7:30, so we waited around (I checked my email and reviews) and at the dot of 7:30, he was out the door.   So I took them to school. Dropping Boy #2 of was fine (other than idiots parking in the car line). He got…

Overtures started today.

Overtures started today.

Chapter 9 of The White Winds went up today as did the prologue of Overtures. I’ve taken an actual break today from writing, mostly because of the Girl going back to school for her Freshman orientation. Now I’ve got to segue into a new schedule so I can get some writing done as well as housework and picking up of various people.   The Hubby says he needs to take the bus in the mornings. After seeing the current price…

Put up the last chapter of Masquerade

Put up the last chapter of Masquerade

So it’s now officially complete. I’ve started writing Overtures and have chapter 9 of The White Winds well under way. People like the movie-verse fic and say it’s very realistic, and very happy. I think it’s about time that something without a lot of angst was written about the movie Alan. I mean, he couldn’t be angry all the time.   Spent a couple of hours just napping this afternoon. Tomorrow, school starts for the Girl. She’s been in such…

4000+, 6000+, 7000+

4000+, 6000+, 7000+

Those are the numbers of hits my three biggest stories have respectively. The White Winds has just topped 4000, Masquerade has topped 6000, and Serendipity has over 7100. I was going to wait on chapter 37 of Masquerade until at least C reviewed it. Becks sent me an email comment, which was nice, but I really wanted to hear from C. I still may wait another day until I post it. But I have started writing Overtures, believe it or…

Make that 16 in 19

Make that 16 in 19

Wrote a chapter of The White Winds last night. Not a long one, by any means, but a chapter nonetheless. It was fun, actually. I had Alan getting dressed while trying to talk with Jeff and giving Jeff’s impressions as he looked at the video screen. Posted it in the wee hours of the morning, so I’m bushed. I’m going to eat breakfast and go back to bed pretty quick here. Just had a review pop up on it, too….
