Why God created women.

Why God created women.

Woke up this morning to a nice, chilly day, one that actually felt like autumn. I took my time getting showered, dressed, eating breakfast, doing some chores, then finally took the puppy out of her crate for walkies. I had to wear my fleece hoodie as the temperature wasn’t out of the 40s – according to the thermometer at the bac of the house. The first thing I noticed outside besides the chill was the empty driveway. Hubby had taken the van….

Finally, recognition!

Finally, recognition!

Kind of late to blog this but I haven’t put it up at my lj either.   On August 27 or 28, I was named a "Featured Member" at FanLib! I am so chuffed!  I haven’t had a featured fic yet, but I have been a "Featured Reviewer" three times. I’ve gotten involved in the forums, and in reviewing stuff outside of my fandom – I even reviewed for the Harry Potter contest. I’ve also gotten involved in the critique group, though I…

Doing some clean up…

Doing some clean up…

Nice new features for the lists! I’ve weeded out some stuff and rearranged things. I’m dropping FicWad as one of my archives as the latest software/database upgrade made a mess of my formatting and I just do not have the time to go back and fix it all. Removing the stories will take some time as the system there seems to take forever. I can’t just cancel my entire account at once.   We’ve got a new member in the family:…

The end is in sight…

The end is in sight…

The pages are just about ready. The forum is up and running and the archives are transferred there. The timeline is nearly decided on, but still needs to be transferred. The art gallery still needs artwork uploaded to it. The Tracy family history timelines still need building in some cases; I’m waiting to hear from Rain on that. The links are estabished. And Chapter 10 is heading down the home stretch. We’re almost ready to move. Move what? International Rescue:…

Lots of weird life stuff going on.

Lots of weird life stuff going on.

First of all, I’ve had absolutely no impetus to write, with the possible exception of writing to the RP. None, zip, nada. I know I need to update my fics, but sitting down to do it has been next to impossible. I’m not sure what to do to get back into the swing of things, but I’d better do so, and soon. While my writing impetus is gone, my creative impulses have been flowing in other directions, it seems. I’ve…

Double Woot!! Even more art!

Double Woot!! Even more art!

More art from my daughter, a picture started some time ago and inspired by my Coffee, Tea, and More drabble, "The Real Thing". She’s now added the Thunderbirds characters to her "job jar" by name, so there may be more to come as she pulls the various characters (including her own and her cousin’s) from the jar to work on!   Also, a picture from my story, Overtures, of Jeff reading Lucille’s diary. The spectacular art is by Math Girl…

Woot!! More art from my daughter!!

Check out my Thunderbirds album! There’s a new picture there by my daughter, called "Virgil’s Happy Place". I think it’s terrific (of course, I’m more than slightly biased)! She’s very happy with it herself.

Awards, awards!

Awards, awards!

Tonight was the awards ceremony for Boy #2. Only the “big” awards were given out; smaller ones, like perfect attendance, will be given out next week (on the last day of school). Let’s see what he came home with: Trophy and certificate for Principal’s Honor Roll (All As, all year) “Oscar” trophy and framed picture for his role in Annie, Jr. (He played Sandy and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I’ll post the Sandy picture; it’ll be great blackmail once he’s older!!)…

Whether or not you like Star Trek, this is too funny. Found the link to it on livejournal’s Fanthropology community. "We have Tribbles and also Troubles"

Rainy days are good for naps…

Rainy days are good for naps…

And that’s exactly how I feel this afternoon: like taking a nap. The window in the livingroom is open to let the cool, damp air in… and give a watching post for one of the cats. The kids are either playing on the PS2 or watching a sibling play. Boy #1 made monkey bread at my request; strangely enough, even with all the sugar, I was shaky and didn’t have an appetite. That usually happens with low blood sugar, not high….
