Happy New Year! (almost)
Uh, yeah, it’s been more than five months since I last updated. *winces in embarrassment*
It’s not that I haven’t come around lately; I’ve been keeping an eye on traffic and updating behind the scenes stuff as needed. If you pop in every so often, you’ll see I’ve been changing out the homepage’s background seasonally.
I really haven’t had much to say, I guess.
NaNoWriMo kicked my butt. Did the ML (Municipal Liaison or regional volunteer) gig again–this after my region was reconstituted to the way it was back when I started (c. 2008). It would have been okay if we’d had enough folks to spread around. Fortunately, I had a co-ML who could cover one side of the region and a volunteer on the other. Still, it just didn’t feel like I did enough. And I certainly didn’t write enough words, got to just over halfway by the end of November. It wore me out so much I’m doubtful that I’ll re-up next year. We’ll see when the time comes.
It didn’t help that I had multiple doctors’ visits during November. The upshot of one particular visit is surgery, scheduled for late in March–the first since 1996.
Christmas was good, but not great, mostly because my oldest son, who I’ve seen for like a half-hour visit during the last year, caught COVID just before the holiday and couldn’t come. I hope to see him at some point next year; we have quite a few Christmas presents to give him!
I participated in this year’s Thunderbirds Are Go! Secret Santa on Tumblr for the third year running. I barely got my entry in on time! My Secret Santa created a lovely comic book page for me! It’s because I now have three stories that I’m back here today, posting them here for the first time. One of them, Gifts, has more to the story that isn’t written yet. Maybe I should work on it over the next few days–it would make a nice surprise for the fandom. You can find links to all three stories on the home page.
Enough for now. Later days, y’all.
