Well, I hoped to put up my NaNoWriMo participant icon here, but MSN spaces won’t let me. NaNoWriMo\u00a0stands for National Novel Writing Month. I’ve signed up for it and the goal is to write a 50,000\u00a0novel in thirty days. I’m off to a good start: 2080 words today so far. I’m doing a modern day fantasy, plus I started chapter 12 of Overtures<\/em>.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Report cards came home today, and it was as I expected. Both boys had all As, and the Girl didn’t. She had five As, one B, and one C (in Geometry). I’m sure she can pull the Geometry grade up in the next quarter; she feels she has a better grasp on the subject now. She even said that the teacher hadn’t gotten a couple of the grades in (their project and notebook grades, I think)\u00a0 so that the C might not be the final grade anyway. <\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
What did surprise me was the fact that, although Boy #1 got 100s in all but two of his classes, Boy #2 didn’t get even one! All his grades were 93 or above, but no actual 100s. That was interesting.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
We finally got the proofs back from Boy #2’s photo shoot. He’s got the goofiest smile on his face! I’ll probably order the pictures simply because I need to have them for Christmas.<\/span><\/div>\n

We did the “donuts for As” thing at Krispy Kreme, and I introduced yet another mother to the perk they provide. I also went over the wall and ate two donuts. One was offered to me as a “free sample” while the kids were getting theirs (I just couldn’t<\/em> refuse a warm glazed donut!) and the other I ate after supper: a pumpkin spice donut. Really yummy and I’m going to hate to see my ” before bed” blood glucose level!<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
I wish I could get rid of this sniffly cold\/allergy\/whatever it is! I hate being so stuffed up all the time. I’ve run out of the powerful decongestant and will have to fall back on sudafed.<\/span><\/div>\n

Well, enough for today. Tomorrow, I’ll let my muse move some more. If I average 2000 words a day, I can finish the 50,000 words by Thanksgiving (maybe). Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the story will be done…. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
