Mmmmm. Toffee!

Mmmmm. Toffee!

Hubby finally brought home the container of homemade almond toffee that one of his customers gave to him. She knows I particularly love it and must have given me some from a larger batch that she made. It is so light and crispy! I had to put it in the fridge because he had left it at work for several days and the chocolate had melted. I’m only eating a little a day and I am sharing it with the kids,…

Chapter 20 is up!

Chapter 20 is up!

I had to go back and make an adjustment when I looked at a map of the area in question as I did some research for later chapters. But it was small, and I noted it in the author’s notes. Now on to chapter 21. The momentum is on Masquerade, so The White Winds will have to wait a bit.

At Last! Elfwood has come through.

At Last! Elfwood has come through.

Wahoo! Elfwood has finally put up my Girl’s little fantasy art gallery. I’ve added the link to my favorites on this page, along with my Hubby’s online cartoon. Both are worth looking at, if I do say so myself. Hubby didn’t go to church on purpose today; it seems he’s hurt his foot somehow and besides that, he had a bad night sleeping. When I came to bed around two, he got up and went out to the couch. Not…

Can I scream now?

Can I scream now?

I have been booted offline by MSN several times this evening, causing me to change the access numbers twice so far. I only have two more after this one, so things had better stay stable for a bit. My connections speed isn’t up to snuff either. I have to shake my head and wonder what’s going on with MSN these days. Hubby spoiled me tonight. Bought me a jamocha shake from Arby’s. To offset it, he also bought me a…

Got another doctor to add to my “Don’t like” list

Got another doctor to add to my “Don’t like” list

Vascular surgeon Dr. Cull. He at least introduced himself, and shook my hand, which were points in his favor (unlike an unlamented, now retired neurologist of my not-brief-enough acquaintance). But the only thing he did for me was debride the callous on my foot… again. He wasn’t comcerned about the blood that has pooled behind the callous, deep under the skin but still visible. And when the callous was debrided, it smelled icky, which to me said there was something wrong…

I am finally refueled.

I am finally refueled.

Got out to WalMart tonight and bought myself some more Russell Stover’s sugar-free chocolate.  They still didn’t have the caramel drops I love so dearly, but the coconut ones were back, hurray! Grapes were on sale, but I really shouldn’t have bought them; we have so many of the little plums that KF sent along. I had one today finally. They aren’t much bigger than cherries, but sooooo sweet! Makes me wonder if the one little plum I had was…

Rumble, rumble, rumble, mutiny, mutiny, mutiny

Rumble, rumble, rumble, mutiny, mutiny, mutiny

My vascular surgeon’s nurse took all day yesterday to get back to me. Seems my doctor is out of town until the 19th. She said she’d see if she could get me in with one of the other doctors, but didn’t call back. So I called back this morning. I’m to see one of the other partners on Friday at 1. She suggested today at 2 since I seemed to be a tad frantic about it, but that might conflict with…

Arrrrgggh!

Arrrrgggh!

The callous on my right foot, the one that has been forming since that blood blister back in March, the one that the vascular surgeon has been debriding in hopes of getting it to heal, now has blood behind it again. I noticed a change in color as early as last Friday, but today I noticed that it was beginning to bulge, forming another stinking blood blister. I’m keeping my foot elevated as much as I can and I’ll call…

There’s weather coming….

There’s weather coming….

and I wish it would get here and go! I actually made it to church this morning, mostly because the service was later and we were having dinner on the grounds afterwards. But I think I buddy taped my toe a little too tight and between that and the neuropathy flaring up because of the weather, I was pretty miserable by the time the meal was over. So Hubby took me home and went back to see the special play…

It’s a quiet afternoon

It’s a quiet afternoon

The boys are gone to Bible club and the girl and I are just sitting around. She’s reading and I’m writing. The White Winds chapter 5 is coming along nicely; I’m probably 2/3 done with it. I’m beginning to get ideas for a sequel to Turnabout, which I’m sure C will love. A scene comes to mind where Christa is about to give birth and they’re trying to think of names for the baby. It will be a hoot, no matter what…
