Hm, almost two months!

Hm, almost two months!

Been a while since I updated this. I’ve been working with my live journal more, partially because I have more friends there. But I stopped by here and realized that I hadn’t updated the artwork lately. The Girl did a piece for me for Mother’s Day/birthday, and did it not only in canon, but for IR:TNP, too. Very cool stuff!   I’ve been busy with IR:TNP (we had a server foul up that required a total rebuild of the forum),…

Verrrrrrry Innnnnnteresting!

Verrrrrrry Innnnnnteresting!

Whew! What a day! Four big things with FanLib Monday/Tuesday! First, I wrote an entry for No Hiatus, the FanLib blog, concerning Script Frenzy, a script-writing challenge from the people who gave us NaNoWriMo. It went up Monday (as Script Frenzy started yesterday) and I noticed that I wasn’t listed as a "guest blogger". Instead, I have my own byline there! Very cool! I have another entry coming up today or tomorrow about the new Thunderbirds novels. Second, I sent in my 50 Creativity…

“May you live in interesting times…”

“May you live in interesting times…”

I guess I’m living in them. It’s been an interesting past few days. We got the notice over the weekend that Boy #1 has been invited to go to the Arts Awakening weekend again. It’ll be over his dad’s birthday, but that’s okay. We’ll celebrate at some other point. The weekend camp is sponsored by the YMCA for the public schools, is by invitation only, and this is the second year that he’s been tapped for the honor. He’s already said…

New Story – Torture and Temptation

New Story – Torture and Temptation

Written for prompt #149 at all_unwritten. Prompt: Torture It was just torture. He sat there, listening to the distant noises, the banging, the murmurs, trying to catch a sense of what was happening beyond the wall. The temperature rose, subtly at first, then more noticeably. Not too hot, not here, but it would definitely be hotter in the room where she’d gone. His knee began to jiggle with tension as he tried to hold himself in check. Not now, not…

New Story – Lacey’s First Snow

New Story – Lacey’s First Snow

Realized that some people aren’t part of livejournal, so they can’t see the little tidbits I’m writing that aren’t fandom specific. So here they are. Wrote this double drabble for prompt #136 at livejournal’s all_unwritten community. The prompt: Footprints in the snow. Snow… as rare as hens’ teeth here, and well outside the puppy’s ken. I took her out for her morning ablutions, holding tight to the leash, slowing her so she didn’t slip on the icy steps and pull…

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Well, it’s 2008 and I have new art from my daughter!   She made magnets for some of our relatives, including me! The magnet she did for me is of Alan, dressed in his IR:TNP uniform, with his pygmy alligator sleeping (and drooling) on his head. Check it out, it’s in the art folder with her other art.   My only resolution for this year: finish my WIPs.

Well, this needs an update!

Well, this needs an update!

Popped over here from my family blog and realized that I hadn’t updated my lists for a bit, though there had been some more writing done since July. Mostly small stuff; some haiku, a Top Ten List, and a vignette in a new fandom, Heroes. My Tracy sister fic has stalled a bit; I’m trying to refine some things and write the rescues. I’m trying to keep her from being a Mary Sue, and it’s really not an easy job!…

The end of an era… or something else pretentious like that.

The end of an era… or something else pretentious like that.

Ever since I’ve been online, I’ve been a customer of MSN’s dial up service. That is, until Monday of this week. That’s when I canceled the service in favor of BellSouth’s DSL Lite service. The DSL was successfully installed last Wednesday, by a very patient DSL technician who first fixed the problem in the line that was keeping us offline, then jumped through a whole lot of hoops with AT&T to discover that somewhere, somehow, a number was one off…

Why God created women.

Why God created women.

Woke up this morning to a nice, chilly day, one that actually felt like autumn. I took my time getting showered, dressed, eating breakfast, doing some chores, then finally took the puppy out of her crate for walkies. I had to wear my fleece hoodie as the temperature wasn’t out of the 40s – according to the thermometer at the bac of the house. The first thing I noticed outside besides the chill was the empty driveway. Hubby had taken the van….

Finally, recognition!

Finally, recognition!

Kind of late to blog this but I haven’t put it up at my lj either.   On August 27 or 28, I was named a "Featured Member" at FanLib! I am so chuffed!  I haven’t had a featured fic yet, but I have been a "Featured Reviewer" three times. I’ve gotten involved in the forums, and in reviewing stuff outside of my fandom – I even reviewed for the Harry Potter contest. I’ve also gotten involved in the critique group, though I…
