Tremors

Tremors

I’ve noticed an increase in the shakiness of my hands over the past few days. I’ve always thought it was associated with my blood sugar levels, but now I’m not so sure. I remember the tremors my grandmother had with her Parkinson’s and I’m a bit concerned. I can’t remember when I have my next visit to the neurologist… maybe I need to make a sooner appointment. Right now I think I’d better eat some lunch.

Nearly to 20K

Nearly to 20K

I’ve just posted chapter 25 of The White Winds. Right now my hit counter stands at 19931 hits for this story alone. I figure that by the time I get up in the morning, it will be over 20K. I’m still amazed that this story is such a hit, but then, most of the current crop of readers for Thunderbirds are movie fans. My goal is to finish this story by the end of April. I should be able to…

That’s it. No more concrit.

That’s it. No more concrit.

I made the  mistake of clicking on the “M” section of TBs fanfiction at ff.net. There were two fics there that I’d not seen before, and I decided to read them. Big, bad mistake. I really should have known not to read the first one. The author misspelled “Tracy” in the summary, and when I read the first chapter, she was misspelling “Alan” as well. But I read it. I left her a piece of solid concrit, pointing out the…

Posted something to LiveJournal

Posted something to LiveJournal

I posted my challenge entry in Lunaescence’s 1000 Word Battle Arena as a public entry in my LiveJournal, so those who’d like to read it and don’t want to join Lunaescence can do so. It’s an original fiction; I went with that since so few at Lunaescence know Thunderbirds at all. Still sniffly, but not quite as bad as before. I haven’t seen my GP yet; and may not… though this has hung on for nearly two weeks now. It doesn’t…

Still feeling icky.

Still feeling icky.

Yeah, still stuffed up, though not as bad today as last night. Had a really bad night sleeping, and so did Hubby. I finally figured out that the stuff that said it was the same as "Sudafed SE" wasn’t the same ingredient as regular Sudafed (which is probably why it was on the shelves and not behind the pharmacist’s counter, like regular Sudafed needs to be these days) So I sent Hubby out after some this afternoon. He got me…

ugh! blech!

ugh! blech!

This congestion has gotten worse to an extent. I thought I had it licked the other day when I started using nasal spray to clear out my sinus passages. Problem is, you can’t take them for more than three days without getting a “bounceback” effect. In other words, use them too much and you get worse! I think that’s what’s happened to me here. The congestion is worse than it was and now affects both sides of my sinuses. So,…

Woo Hoo! 200!

Woo Hoo! 200!

Actually it’s, 201! That’s the review count on The White Winds! I am really happy and I feel a sense of accomplishment that one of my works has engendered so many reviews (and that’s just on fanfiction.net!). I don’t think I’ve gotten reviews anywhere else on it. Now to format the latest chapter (which I posted in the wee hours this morning) to html and post it at FicWad. Then, another “Missing Scene” at Lunaescence. My eyes are a bit…

Finally! Set in stone… more or less

Finally! Set in stone… more or less

I finally decided what to do with that rescue scenario. No yacht, no capsizing, just a lot of cool (I hope) rescue action and, of course, that nutty waterspout. Strange how you get enamored of an idea and try your hardest to find a way to fit it in. Took Hubby out for lunch on his birthday. It was his non-scheduled day, but he worked anyway, which is good: we need the money! For the next month he is a…

Hmm… the more I research….

Hmm… the more I research….

… the more I end up wanting to change my chapter.   Discovering that a research vessel that could carry a bathyscaphe or an MIR (a bathysphere is old tech, from what I’m reading) would have to be the size of a cargo ship, and therefore less likely to capsize, has been a bit of a blow. Even a smaller research vessel is longer, wider, and much sturdier than the yacht that encountered the waterspout IRL. It also has a…

More laundry… etc.

More laundry… etc.

The Girl complained of dizziness and a headache this morning, symptoms very much like those her brother had earlier in the week (only without the fever). I caved and let her stay home, but I sent her off to bed as soon as we got back from the bus run. She had a long nap, and though she felt better, still didn’t feel up to par. So she spent part of the day coloring the White Winds picture. She was…
