“Take this as a sign…”
While shopping at Aldi today, I met a young woman with purple hair. Now, I’ve dyed my hair a dark blue and have kept it up since late May, so when I complimented her choice of color, she responded in kind.
I also noticed a tattoo on her right forearm and asked what it was. She held up her arm for me to see.
It was a tattoo of the moon, lined up in its phases.
“Wow! You recognized it! Most people think it’s pizza or something.”
I chuckled. “I know it because of a story I’ve been writing. It’s about a djinn who gets more powerful as the moon waxes and wanes.”
I explained more about my work-in-progress, The Moon Djinn.
“That sounds like a good read! Take this as a sign to keep working on it.”
I agreed. We wished each other a good day and parted.
So… I guess I should work on that novel. I haven’t forgotten my edits on Serendipity, I just haven’t had the energy to do them. Maybe my decision to go back to the gym will enable me to put butt in seat and fingers on my keyboard.
Thanks, purple-haired woman!
