One good thing about editing an old fanfic is finding the mistakes you never knew you’d made. For example, in order to tie a vignette in Burning Muses to Serendipity, I had John Tracy say something about his father visiting him… while he was supposedly on the International Space Station! Uh, no. That doesn’t happen, even if Jeff Tracy is a retired astronaut. What was I thinking?

Now I have to figure out which darling to kill: the call out to Burning Muses or the ISS business. I think I’m going to have to kill them both, actually, and come up with something else. Something that’s both canon-compliant and at least nods to the current (future) state of deep space photography.
