Finally poking some of my old fics
Yes, it’s well past time I did this.
I’m editing my older fanfics for posting here and, eventually, at AO3, starting with Serendipity. This means I get to show off the pencil fanart done back in the day by my friend, MathGirl. I’m also looking at my all-but-abandoned WIPs with an eye to continuing/finishing them. Chapter 28 of Overtures is on my plate next, I think, though I should reread the rest of the arc before I finish that. (Hence, Serendipity.) For some reason, my Scrivener copy of Overtures seems to be messed up–I hope the same isn’t true for the copy here.
NaNoWriMo’s been involved in quite a nasty brouhaha that’s led to the resignation/firing of almost all the staff and the angry departure of a majority of MLs. I’ve tendered my resignation there, too; not as much for the mess at HQ as for just sheer tiredness. Looking back, I could see I was the reason why my region consistently had an ML. So, for my own well-being, I’m bowing out. Whether or not I decide to participate this November has yet to be seen.
On a more personal note, I’ve been recovering from major surgery in March and am finally feeling like I can get back into a routine. I’m working on yet another afghan, this time for my mother-in-law, who we visited in early March. Sixty more rows to go! Hopefully I’ll have it done before Mother’s Day. After that, I’m going to take an extended break from loom knitting to give my shoulder a rest.
Later days, y’all!
