More laundry… etc.

More laundry… etc.

The Girl complained of dizziness and a headache this morning, symptoms very much like those her brother had earlier in the week (only without the fever). I caved and let her stay home, but I sent her off to bed as soon as we got back from the bus run. She had a long nap, and though she felt better, still didn’t feel up to par. So she spent part of the day coloring the White Winds picture. She was more herself in the late afternoon.

Boy #2 went to a friend’s house after school, and spent the afternoon there, so the only one I had to pick up was Boy #1, which felt very odd. I got a rebate check today, and promptly cashed it to spend on a few groceries to keep us afloat until next payday. The plumbers’ bill took up the food money, so we’re stretching what we have. It will mean another mega shop come next Friday, but we’ll survive.

I woke up congested on only one side of my sinuses, which was frustrating. I’m sure I know what the problem was: all the dust I stirred up yesterday cleaning! Got some more laundry done, including the boys’ winter jackets.

I also managed to start writing TWW chapter 23. It’s got a cool rescue in it; a boat overturned by a tornadic waterspout! I did quite a bit of research on it and found some awesome pictures taken during a yachting race in 2001. The waterspout was the product of a supercell thunderstorm and passed within meters of one boat, then clobbered some others later on, once it had lost some power. If it were classified on the Fujita scale, which categorizes tornadoes, it would have been an F2. Oh, I love wikipedia! I hope to get this chapter done, then on to some more Overtures. I seem to be getting back into the writing groove, and I hope my muses catch fire like they did on Masquerade. That was such an awesome time! I love it when my writing flows like that.

More tomorrow, I think.
