Advice wanted.

Advice wanted.

I’ve recently upgraded Scrivener to version 3.0 (at a small fee) and have taken a good look at a Brains-centric fic from 2015. It’s actually mostly finished, for once, though it needs a hella lot of polishing. I think it’s something I could get my teeth into as far as editing is concerned. The files aren’t here but I’d post it here first once it was finished. The problem I have is: this could be slotted before or after Resolutions…

Got some more stuff posted

I managed to post another chapter of Burning Muses on this site and on Fanfiction.net as well. I’ve also made the decision about Promptings; the “chapters” will be stand-alone one-shots as that’s what I’ve done with all my other one-shot stories. I haven’t posted them at Fanfic yet, nor have I posted any of this at AO3. A couple more chapters of Burning Muses are nearly ready, though I’m not sure of one of them as it’s completely dialog and…

Finally feeling like writing

Finally feeling like writing

…or at least editing. Son #2 has finally achieved another level of adulthood: a driver’s license and a car of his own. This means the Girl doesn’t have to take him to work for 4 a.m. and I don’t have to pick him up in the early afternoon. It also means the Hubby can take our car more often instead of waiting for the bus. With COVID-19 still rampaging through the country and not being eligible for a vaccine (yet),…

Asking for advice!

Asking for advice!

I’ve just put up two one-shot stories under the collection title of Promptings. It’s under Short Stories. But my short stories aren’t a collection; they are actually multi-chapter stories, anywhere from two to nine chapters. So, should the one-shots be collected under short stories or as individual stories under One-Shots? Please give me some advice, either here, on Twitter, or on Tumblr. Many thanks! I’m a Hugo Award winner… sort of…

Just found out today that An Archive of Our Own (or AO3 for short) has won a Hugo Award for “Best Related Work”. Yes, the entire site won! And since I post there, I share in the award! I would love a little lapel pin reproduction of the Hugo Award rocket to commemorate the win. In other news, writing has been slow to non-existent lately. I’m not sure why; I’m still getting ideas but I’m having trouble putting my butt…

When art imitates life

When art imitates life

I’m not doing so well at Camp. I’ve not been editing or writing as long as I should, or even any time at all during the day. Too much on my mind, really. Housework, being the agony aunt for both the in-laws and the parents, trying to get some estimates on fixing up the house (and daydreaming about how my kitchen might look). There’s a lot swirling around me and writing has been put on the back burner. However, I’ve…

Questions you may have…

Questions you may have…

Did I reach my word count for Camp NaNoWriMo? Uh, no. I didn’t. (Which is part of the reason I’ve taken over a month to update anything.) The story I set myself to, after finishing the Flash fanfic, just gave me no joy. It’s a story I want to tell but I may have taken too long to tell it. I mean, The White Winds finished in 2010 and this was supposed to be a sequel. It may be too…

Finally finished the third chapter

Finally finished the third chapter

I have been so behind on blogging and writing. Partially because I don’t have the deadline of NaNoWriMo hanging over my head but also because there’s been a lot of personal upheaval in my life–from my mom’s kidney failure to my dad’s current hospital stay to my recent fractured leg due to another nasty fall. However, I’m determined to get this Flash fic done and off to a betareader┬ábefore the end of the month. Why? The first session of Camp…

My fingers are sore!

My fingers are sore!

Might be a touch of arthritis, might be neuropathy, might be overworking them with all this typing! In any case, I’m slightly above where I need to be; the daily goal is 18333 and I’m at 18698. We have a write-in tomorrow morning where I hope to reach 20K! As an aside, I’ve decided to rename Percy the rocket duck. I had originally wanted him because he reminded me of Thunderbird Three. My brother realized this and named his own…

A very brief update.

A very brief update.

I took Friday off to shop and to binge watch the rest of Thunderbirds Are Go’s first season; it dropped yesterday on Amazon Prime Video. I made Thursday’s goal, wrote a few hundred words on Friday, and have a write-in this afternoon, during which I plan on catching up. (Still have to grocery shop, though.) Current word count: 5353.   Copyright secured by Digiprove © 2016 Linda BennettAll Rights ReservedOriginal content here is published under these license terms: X License Type:Read OnlyLicense Abstract:You may read the original content in…
