OUCH!!

OUCH!!

I’m beginning to think it’s dangerous to walk to the school to pick up Boy #2.

Yesterday, on the way home, I stepped wrong somehow, and injured my ankle. I’m not quite sure what exactly I did to it, but it complained with a dull ache for the rest of the day. It’s better today, but what’s a dull ache in me might be excruciating pain in someone else. I may have done more damage than I think I did, simply because things are so numb down there by my feet.

And today, on the way home again, I took a fall. Full length, ending up on my knees and forearms, my belly on the sidewalk. I slipped on something but I have no idea what; the sidewalks are covered with twigs and fallen leaves. Even dry, those leaves can be really slippery. I’ve done this before, felt my foot slide across some bit of debris, but I’ve usually been able to catch myself. Not this time. I ended up scraping my right hand and left knee, and a kind gentleman offered both Boy #2 and me a lift home, which I accepted. (I know, that was dangerous in itself!) I was very upset about it; I hate the sensation of falling; it’s the reason I avoid most rollercoasters.

In any case, I’ll be talking with Hubby tonight about making Boy #2 a car rider only, or allowing him to walk home by himself. Yeah, I need the exercise, but not if I’m going to be damaging myself in doing it.

On the writing front, TWW chapter 44 is up, and 45 is in production. I haven’t touched my novel since the day after NaNo ended, and I need to do so. It’s just that I feel like I’m on a roll here with TWW, and if I can get this finished, I’ll have more creative energy to devote to the novel.

More later as the muse moves.
