NaNoWriMo 2014 is live!

Yes, I’m doing NaNoWriMo.

No, I’m not writing fan fiction.

No, I’m not working on that original fantasy story.

Yes, I met my word count today and then some.

Yes, I’m a municipal liaison … again.

I’m pantsing along (as in, not plotting at all) on a superhero rescue squad story. Think Thunderbirds meets the Justice League. Or the X-Men. Or the Avengers. (Marvel version, not Steed and partner. In my house, you have to be specific.) So far I have a half-dozen characters. I can’t always remember their names in the heat of writing. Yes, my empathic healer is in there with a different name and playing a back up role. So far, I have a bit of pairing between a German muscle man/giant (think a blond, fair-skinned, affable Hulk) and a Japanese telekinetic. My winged guy is Native American, though I may yet make him an angelic being. My tech master is native to Hawai’i. My teleporter is a very dour Greek. I have a hovering character who comes from the South (possibly Texas). More are waiting in the wings, I’m sure. Fire and water benders may be fraternal twins. So far, no code names, though I’m sure I should have them. Haven’t decided if this is futuristic or more real time–but with future tech. It will be Earth, though. No new world this time.

More as it moves along.
